Murray McBride has lived a long full life. He enjoyed a successful career as a professional athlete and a decades long marriage to the love of his life. Yet, he dwells on some family related regrets that he knows cannot be resolved. Then he meets a seriously ill boy named Jason. His whole world and outlook on life changes. They embark on a journey of friendship that enrich both of them. Share that journey with them. Be prepared to laugh, cry, and cheer. Most of all, be prepared to feel your spirits soar and your heart to be deeply touched.

Mr. Murray McBride is a centenarian who has outlived his beloved wife, sons and friends. He also feels he has out lived his usefulness. Enter Jason Cashman, a ten year old boy who is dying from a bad heart. They meet at the hospital and when Jason accidently leaves behind his list with five wishes he wants to accomplish before he dies, Mr. McBride rushes to find him to return it. The unlikely pair become friends and go on an adventure trying to fulfill Jason’s wish list. To say more would spoil the adventure so sit back and enjoy this heartwarming tale. Despite a tragedy that will leave you breathless this book generates hope that people of all ages have something to offer and receive.

I almost couldn’t put this book down, it is that good. This book is about two strangers: a man who is 100 years old and a young boy who is 10 years old. Doesn’t sound like it would be anything you’d be interested in? Think again. This book will hook you in almost from the beginning but by the second chapter for sure. I don’t ever give spoiler information but suffice it to say the fulfillment of the five wishes is everything.

Love this story! It's got a lot of heart, and it's funnier than you think. Murray McBride is lovable curmudgeon early on, but his rough edges smooth out pretty quick. The story is well-told and just lets you think you know what's going to happen before it throws you a curve-ball.Highly enjoyable! Very satisfying read for anybody.

Book came highly recommended, but I found the writing trite and the characters without much substance. I read as far as I could and finally abandoned it. I'm sure that as with any book, there are readers for this one, but I'm not one of them.

I took a break from reading mystery novels and having finished this book I'm glad I did. Murray, jason, Tiegen and their families are a slice of life, like all families, they live, breathe,cry and do impossible things and in the end you are glad to have met them. Thanks to Joe Siple who took me on a joyous emotional ride. No spoilers but take a chance and read this book.

Don’t read this book unless you are willing to cry & to deal face to face with your own mortality. Seldom do we focus on the briefness of our own live & what really matters to us. This story caused me to do that! I’m thankful that I’m only 75. I can & will do much more with my life.

This was a over and above book to read. A story about reaching out to someone and never being too old or too young. Love it and hated the moments I couldn't be reading. Interesting beginning and ending. Hope Joe Siple has another great human story in the making. Thank you for writing a awesome story.
