I got this for my son, he is in his senior year and it's part of his curriculum on his AP Chemistry class. He likes it and has no problem with it, other that it is hard to navigate sometimes. If it was better organized it would get a 5 start in his opinion.
The 5 star rating is for the seller. My book arrived on time and in good condition, and I saved a ton of money over buying it through my school. This textbook, however, isn't great. I'm taking an online Chem class through my community college and the textbook presents the information in such a way that it is hard to make the necessary connections to really understand the material on your own. Each chapter gives you a whole bunch of information, but doesn't tell you the significance of it (or if it is significant) or how to relate it to other things you've learned. I am spending a lot of time watching videos on the material and even bought a "teach yourself chemistry" book to supplement this one. I've taken several other online courses and never had this issue with past textbooks.
We'll written helped in class, has good graphs and excellent diagrams. Would recommend buying from amazon cause it is cheaper.

I haven't read the book yet because I needed to send it back since the Wiley plus code is required for my course.This book was physically in fine condition but did not include the code. I called Amazon and the representative was not sure if the book should come with a code or not, but she gave me a prompt return. It doesn't make sense to me to buy this book new if you don't need the code.

I bought this book and think it was worth the money. It has a lot of good content, color pages are of good quality and the book was constructed well. Subject matter was pretty good although Mr Owens left a few Western Movie Icons out but for the most part, I'm happy with the book and have told friends in the collecting field to get a copy. If you only buy it to see autographs of stars which will probably never come up for sale (I did for John Doucette) it's worth the price. It's a good reference guide against "Fakes".
Fans of western movies, especially the B-western Saturday afternoon matinees, should find this book delightful. Primarily it consists of gorgeous photo after photo (most autographed) of individuals who appeared in screen westerns during the silent era, during the singing cowboy era, in bigger-budget studio westerns, and during the booming TV western era. For fans who have attended western film festivals over the years, the book will reinforce memories of the "stars" and the autographed photos they inscribed and signed.

PICTURES ARE GREAT AND IT IS A GOOD SOURCE TO CONFIRM AUTOGRAPHS. I FEEL HOWEVER PRICES ARE OVER DONE.
Many of the autographs were hard to see and many stars did not have autographs shown. Most importantly, the prices given for autographs were very greatly overstated in almost all cases. A very big disappointment.

Mastering Comics is an instructional tome that picks up seamlessly from where Drawing Words & Writing Pictures left off. Both books are actually textbooks for a comic art course at thh School of Visual Arts, but are also great as reference for independent study. The way art and comics are approached in these books is much different from other instructional books on creating comics. The absence of spandex clad vigilantes battling ridiculously themed villains doesn't indicate a lack of quality in the instruction. The only drawback is much of the book is focused on computer based applications. This addresses the creator who wants to maximize their property for web presentation. Most of the lessons ring true regardless of whether your input is digital or analog.
wasn't sure what to make of this book at first, with so many books coming out about how to do comics, its hard to tell which one to get! get this one! it covers everything! inking, perspective, dialogue, points of view, you name it! never boring or overly academic, it makes want to start doing your own comic book right away! so worth every penny!

Easy to follow along with the online course.
Very well done series of books. I think there are three books total, each with its own answer book. I am enjoying it. This one begins by starting you on verb tenses. He gives you a lesson on the left page, and exercises that you need to do after the lesson are on the right page. The whole book is like that, and it is a good learning tool.

I bought this because my daughter finished the 3 disc Rosetta Stone Latin series and wanted to continue. It's a solid basic Latin grammar and textbook. Not cutesy, well organized, not religious, rigorous but not too complicated. Highly recommended!
I used this series to relearn Latin over a few months. It is an intense course, with even pages providing grammar, and odd pages consisting of exercises. Each grammar page covers a variety of topics. Because it is so condensed, it is possible to progress rapidly which is very motivating. The author's style is entertaining, which also helps to maintain interest.It is vital to learn everything thoroughly as you go, or you will be rapidly overwhelmed. The books focus primarily on written language rather than spoken. I personally would have found more exercises useful - especially in Book III Perhaps a supplementary book could be considered for future publication.Having finished the books, I am now able read Caesar and the Vulgate Bible with the help of a dictionary. I am not able to compare the books with other Latin texts, however the series is one of the best I have used for self study of a foreign language.
We like this Latin programme, it guides the independent beginner student to learn and to progress with confidence and competency.

I took this book for it's word and it paid off. Change Your Handwriting, Change Your Life works when you practice the very pleasant, simple exercises presented. After reading a few pages I couldn't wait to get home to begin. I was ready for a change in my life and this book helped me get started. Doing the writing exercises not only improved my handwriting, it helped me raise my consciousness. Vimala Rodgers has written more on the subject, upgrading her technique, but this book is unique and a keeper for life. This handwriting is a character builder and needs to be in all our schools like it is in other parts of the world. Teacher's would see confidences improving and attitudes change for the better. Children will feel better about themselves once they begin writing the Vimala way.
I love this book. It’s interesting and positive. Using the techniques as recommended can help to make huge changes in your life.

This book has and well planned new script to choose and change your handwriting one character at a time over a period that will realistically fix the change on a brain change level. 40 days and a rational reason to change the letter is the magic idea to make it permanent. Who Knew? Thanks Vimala!
Interesting but disappointing at the same time the book was hard to follow. I was signed by the author and she does not follow what she says.
She fills up pages with puff. I might be a little harsh, but not a book to learn much about understanding the letters. Save your money and find a book that gives you more information and samples of handwriting.
Whether or not this book changes my life, I find it interesting. When I focus on a letter stroke, I find that I also focus on the habit I want to change for the better. And that's the whole point, isn't it? It's not about the writing, as much as bringing things to my attention so I can be responsive to change for the better.
There are two paths to enlightenment in classical chinese culture... martial arts, where the body movements cause transformational changes in the brain, and the path of the scholar, where calligraphic practice with the Confucian classics, when done correctly, causes the energy to flow out of the brush onto the paper. This also causes transformational changes in the brain. I could be a bit more esoteric, but the bottom line is, this is the first transformational methodology for western culture, similar to chinese principals, I've seen. I recommend doing this and it really will change your life.

I was so excited for this book to come out. I even read the first couple of chapters when it appeared on my Kindle after midnight. I loved the trilogy so much and re-read it recently so that everything was fresh in my mind. I loved Marcus. I couldn't wait to find out how his relationship with Phoebe developed from the meeting at Sotheby's when he bought Diana and Matthew's miniatures. I was beyond impatient to read how their epic love story unfolded. Finally, when my Kindle was at about 85%, I realized it wasn't happening. Honestly, 36+ hours later, I am still really deflated and upset about it. Actually, as I write this, I'm getting riled up again, and more depressed. I mean, when else will we find out all those details? Not in another book, right? We don't even see them as a couple until the end. None of the care taken building Matthew and Diana's relationship is there. Their connection is so deep and layered and romantic and intricate. Not so with Marcus and Phoebe. Why do Phoebe and Marcus love each other? What was so deep, everlasting and special about their relationship that convinced Phoebe to turn into a vampire? It's like a whole BIG section is missing from the book. And, outside of the missing relationship, there's also no real path or connection for Marcus to the present after New Orleans -- we're just left in the dark after his chastisement for the next 200+ years to modern day. And we really know nothing about Phoebe except for a few comments about painting and ballet and her upper-crust upbringing. Wouldn't it have been interesting to actually read about her telling her family Marcus is a vampire and oh, she's going to turn into one instead of meeting them when they already know and she's saying goodbye/goodnight before the process begins?I feel terrible complaining because the book is beautifully written and the attention to history and detail is phenomenal. I was counting the days and minutes until this released. And I loved, loved, loved the twins and glimpses into Matthew and Diana's continuing life. Maybe this book tried to satisfy too many themes? On another note, I love Gallowglass and want him to find his true love -- but now that I've been disappointed by Marcus and Phoebe, will he get a chance? He so deserves it. But will the same lack of attention happen?? That's what I'm afraid of! I'm going to give myself a little while to cool off and read it again. Maybe I missed something?
I loved author Deborah Harkness’ previous trilogy and was excited about this new work. I eagerly read it and quickly remembered the characters and the basic story, even though it has been awhile since I last read about them. This book, Time’s Convert, lacks focus, and I kept feeling as though I was being set up to read a multi-story arc that wouldn’t make sense until the final story. Those are my least favorite types of series; I prefer series that engage readers in character development and new adventures rather than piecemeal tales. This book has three partial stories, none of which are really very rewarding by book’s end. Phoebe becomes a vampire, Marcus reveals his human past and very early vampire years and Matthew and Diana’s twins begin to develop real personalities. The Phoebe/Marcus story could have been a good book or the twins could have been a good book but this was not enough anything to be a really good story. I remain hungry for more
Loved all souls--which grabbed you from the beginning. In this book, nothing happens. We already knew phoebe planned to become a vampire. And she did. We already knew Marcus was in the revolutionary war and lived in Nola. Now we know more but care less. This author is better than this series of historical vignettes. Maybe something will happen in the next book, but I won't buy it the day it comes out...will wait for reviews. This is all background info and no story.
If you’re expecting another great book similar the All Souls Trilogy (in terms of storyline, action and character development) you will likely be somewhat disappointed. The book doesn’t really get interesting until around page 200. The back story on Marcus is at times quite tedious and feels a bit like a vanity piece for the author to write about the American and French Revolutionary periods. All that said, the last half of the book is entertaining and a fairly fun read. It was interesting to read about Phoebe’s transformation and revisit with Diana and Matthew a couple of years post-Book of Life. However, there’s really not much of a compelling storyline here and the author struggles to pull together 3 story ideas into one cohesive book. If you loved Shadow of Night, you are more likely to enjoy this book, given the focus on historical references and atmosphere.I’m still a big fan of Deborah Harkness, but this book lacked the sparkle of her other brilliant efforts.
I gave 3 stars and I feel like that is generous. After reading all the books that came before this one, it seemed rather flat.
