BUT more importantly to me, this book also provided a compendium of information for the everyday investor – everything from investor tax strategies, to portfolio diversification (including various bond investments), to long term low management investing, along with the strategies for day trading. And it covered all this ground in a readable and understandable format. Initially I thought I did not have the time or expertise to get into day trading, however, it has helped me to rethink, reevaluate, and update my current investment portfolio. And, then on reflection, I thought maybe I will also set a few thousand aside (with time on my hands as a current retiree) to see if day trading really does make sense for me. So I will give that a try too!And to the young man who wrote this book, I wish you luck in your future endeavors – and successes.

My piano teacher recommended that I purchase this book and I have started working my way through the pieces. The level is early intermediate and beyond.I like the book very much for a number of reasons. First, the pieces are in their original form and help is provided on how to play the ornaments. Second, the printing is quite large and easy to read.Third, a CD is available and I like to listen first as I begin to read. I purchased the CD separately and it is very high quality as well, with Kim Reilly playing all the pieces in a very professional manner.Fourth, I am trying to sight read some of the easier pieces and this book will certainly help me develop that skill.Fifth, the book is spiral bound and opens (and stays) perfectly on the music desk.Finally, this is completely subjective but I enjoy all the pieces so far.All in all, a great selection and the perfect supplement to any of the classical piano methods you may be using.
Nice volume of classics. Many pieces are easy enough for an early intermediate pianist. The CD that comes with this book is very good quality.
I really enjoyed this book so far. I started learning the piano a few years ago as an adult and a lot of the classical music you are given in training books such as Thompsons is not in the original form. Here it all is and with some effort you can learn to play it. As a Baroque fan I really enjoyed the first part of the book. It is excellent value and well printed and bound. I saw another review here which was very negative - the reviewer didn't like the modern selections. Well, even if you only get 10 or 20 selections you like the book is cheap enough and I quite liked some of the more modern stuff too.
Great songs, lots of simple classical stuff, but challenging enough to keep me interested and working at it. I haven't played thorough any of the contemporary pieces yet.Lots of songs. Most are 1 or 2 pages per song, which I like.I definitely recommend it for an intermediate pianist looking for great sounding classical music to work on.

One of the challenges of being a parent to a toddler is managing the ‘chaos’ while not allowing it to suck you into its vortex. A toddler is a powerful thing. And if you’re not careful, he can take you down with everything else he pulls off the shelf. I spent 10 joyful years as a classroom teacher shaping young adults. But when I became a father who was in charge of caring for our son during the day, I was a fish out of the water. My heart was there, but my hands didn’t know what to do. The internet is surely not short of support in this matter. In my search to tame this wild beast before me and keep me from having a terrible no good bad day, hunting I did go. But my wife and I weren’t sure our budget could afford (nor thought we needed) the ‘promoted’ material, and our child actions didn’t seem to match the one dutifully sitting at the table threading a disc….we tried. He’d rather see what each did while flying through the air. More importantly, as a high school teacher, I learned real quick that students don’t like worksheets (that’s toddler speak for flash cards). They want to experience the world around them…in 3D. That’s what I wanted to share with my son. While also getting the floors swept, taking care of the laundry, washing the car, shopping for groceries, etc. That’s what Ayelet is helping me with…. “Simplification†and the means for me to provide my son with “high-quality interactions and opportunities to engage with the worldâ€. I appreciate how easy it is to move through as a guide, so you can pick out activities that meet your toddler where he or she is, and it explains when and why you may be seeing a particular behavior or new skill emerge. Even though it is organized by month, I think the framework gives you the flexibility to create opportunities based on what your child or client needs to be supported in their own development.Two “lessons†have really resonated with me. I found two different approaches to tackling challenging behaviors very illuminating and reassuring. Each provided a practical approach (easy to make social stories) and a shame-free way to respond to throwing (the little scientist at work, performing experiments to see how the outcome changes in different contexts). These recommendations helped me change up the ways we had previously been tackling these issues to meet his new cognitive level. Additionally the Heavy Work concepts have also given me the courage to say “YES!†to activities I may have otherwise shied away from, like letting my son carry a bag of groceries in. Who knew that would spark so much joy by creating an opportunity for him to get one of his needs met? And it was free!This book has also helped me be a better play partner with my son instead of a constant director, which has been so much more fun for us both!I’ll be giving this book and its companion, Understanding Your Baby, to every expecting mom I know and recommending it to anyone who ever asks for quality resources for their family!

This is the third book I have read in the series. I like that each book has a unique storyline. This one has a whimsical side to it given the curse. Of course, as a reader, I know there is a happy ending. Now, the journey to that happy ending is what kept me up finishing this book. I do enjoy reading (and finishing) a good book.I like the characters. I like how straightforward the storyline is. No side stories. No minor characters outshining the hero and heroine. And I like that you do not have to read the previous books in the series to appreciate this book more. The story is well paced. This book just focused on the hero and heroine and how they worked together to overcome a curse. The innocent heroine “ruined†herself in the eyes of society to escape and engagement. The hero married her because her “ruined†state is perfect for his situation. So imagine his reaction to the truth. And her reaction to his “situationâ€. I consider this book to be a light read because it has none of the brooding and the angst and the misunderstanding and miscommunication that some novels capitalize on. This story has love, humor, family and hope. I like that there is an epilogue that focused on the makn characters but gave a hint of the next book in the series. Which I will, of course, buy.
The whole story revolved around the curse of the McLarin Lairds, it was intriguing at the beginning and the characters were engaging enough. It would have been good, if they have explained how did they break the curse. The prologue was about it, I was hoping that the epilogue would be the conclusion. Alas, in the end, it’s only all assumptions on the readers part. Maybe because Hunt married her when he thought that he was pregnant with another man’s child or probably because Clara delivered twins instead of just one bairn. Or maybe, they were just a superstitious lot and there was really no curse to begin with. Merely unfortunate incidents from the previous lairds. Moral of the story though was to live for the present and to not let the future stop you from claiming or doing what you want.
This book is definitely a new favorite for me! I really adored the characters and how they handled everything that came their way. The pacing of the story was great. The conflict was not overblown or frustrating. Instead, the way they handled their conflicts flowed naturally, and their love for each other was exactly what I look for in a novel. I wish I could crawl back inside it. This story gave me all the feels, with plenty of sexiness and the perfect dose of angst. It’s not often that I’m completely at a loss as to how a story will be resolved, and I’m pleased to say, the tension held through to the end. I just loved this book!

She "meets" Hunt when he starts a brawl in the inn she stops at on the way to her brother's house. She is intrigued by the handsome highlander, but at the same time appalled. He is equally taken by her, but puts her out of his mind, as they will never cross paths again.But fate has other plans for these two, they meet again at her brother's home - and when Marcus tells Hunt that Clara is ruined and with child, Hunt thinks he has found a way around the curse - he will marry Clara and raise her child as his own without any danger to himself! But there is a catch - Clara lied, she is not, nor has she ever been, pregnant. She refuses Hunt's offer, but after her family and Marian press the issue, she reconsiders.They marry and truths are revealed - Hunt is angry and tells Clara she has killed him. Clara thinks the curse is nonsense - but is it?I liked this book, but I feel like it could have been so much better, there were a lot of things left unsaid that I think could have added to the story. Hunt and Clara are both likeable leads and have an immediate chemistry, but sadly, I felt like that fizzled out a bit by the end and she never tells him she loves him, which was disappointing. On the upside, there was quite a bit of amusing banter, some warm to steamy love scenes and wonderful secondary characters that helped the story along. I must note that there were a lot of title/formal address errors and some inconsistencies in the story, but this was an uncorrected arc, so it is possible that those will be corrected by publication and therefore, I didn't take them in to consideration while rating this book. This is the fourth book in the series, but it can definitely be read as a stand alone with no problem.*I am voluntarily leaving a review for an uncorrected eARC that was provided to me by Edelweiss and the publisher.*

The practice test workbook is useful. Since the PARCC was a brand new test for everyone, no one knew what to expect. It's good to have the practice tests so my 9yo has an idea what this test's about. The online practice tests are fun. My son liked the questions and did it well. He took the PARCC about 3 weeks ago. The tests took part in two days. Each lasted 75 minutes. My son said the first day test was long and difficult to him. He finished the test about 90%. The second day was easier and within his level. He finished the test without difficulty. His teacher claimed that it was pretty much the same feeling from his classmates. My son said the questions in the tests were similar to the workbook's, but some questions were longer and more difficult than the workbook's.
The workbooks are okay but the website keeps crashing between practice sessions. For the past two days I can barely get to the website and if I do it's timed out or doesn't for most times do anything at all!!!! pretty frustrating. My child had to retake tests several times as the webpage kept going into an error while submitting tests. I emailed the support team and there's been no reply.
Recently purchased Lumos Learning books for both Mathematics and ELA for PARCC preparation for my 3rd grade kid from Amazon. He loves going through the material and what was most appealing to him was the online workbooks that are made available. With PARCC now online, this gives better practise than using paper and pen, and better simulation of the actual test. I would recommend this to all, for enriched learning and preparation for the PARCC.

The online practice wouldn't work. I was not able to log in. After so many attempts, I just walked away from it. The workbook itself is good though. But I didn't buy it just for the workbook. I bought it for online practice purposes, and therefore 3 stars.
It's nice to be able to use the online workbooks, my son likes it.
Great for assesments only - did not read the fine print that there are no lessons in it. I gove it 3 starts b/c I was unable to log on to the online workbooks as promised.
My 8 year old daughter love this book and she practices the online workbooks too. It has lot to practice on . I believe its worth paying the money.

The cookbook format is a great way to organize and present the subject. Ms Pate's book strikes a nice balance between style and substance. The photography provides lots of visual appeal while she explains terms and techniques.Who knew that fennel stalks and feathers would produce such a beautiful green hue? I'll never look at the supermarket's produce department quite the same way. This will be a real go-to book for anyone interested in natural dyeing.
A recent grad from SAIC, I was looking for a reference to support my desire for a more immersive art practice. As a fiber artist I found this book to be approachable to those with no experience and challenging to those with a masters degree - a very difficult achievement. This book is an incredible treasure and I am not only inspired to create more art, I am now able to face my hesitation/fear of natural dyes, further questioning, why isn’t everyone taking their art practice to this level of sustainablity?
Love this book!! Beautiful photography and a comprehensive guide to dyeing with easy to follow instructions and a list of resources. Perfect for the home or textile artist library.
Not alot of substance, very basic. There are better books on the subject that offer more information on natural fabric dyeing. I hate to be negative but want to be helpful to those searching for better resources.
Great book, detailed instructions. Used to help teach a class of third graders about natural dyeing using food waste.

What a fabulous book! I especially like that there are projects as well as the recipes for the dyes. The blues and purples are especially lovely.
This book is intended for the children who are a little older. It requires the ability to use some things which are every day items around the house and in addition a few specialty items. There is a listing of the items needed and pictures so that there is no mistaking which ones they are. The only item that you might not find around the house would be a mortar and pestle, but beyond that there are such things as tongs, measuring cups, measuring spoons and so forth.The reason this would be for the older child to learn with is that they can read and grasp the concepts of design, fashion, and color a lot easier. It would also be a great hobby to see what things can be put to further use in the making of dyes for different objects.Fully illustrated with very colorful pictures showing fruits and the results of the dye is another feature. The author is Maggie Pate and she is a fashion designer who is recognized for her innovative methods in fashion.A great gift item for the creative child who I would guess should be about 10 years or older. In the book there is not a indication of age but that is what I would peg it at. Think about it in the vain that if the child is creative and artistic this would be a step forward to a great learning experience.
